Wow… I never thought I’d made it! I spent a whole month traveling with one of my best friends around Europe and ALL thanks to Interrail Europe and HostelWorld.
I always wanted to do the Interrail but I didn’t know how to, I supposed it was not easy and (knowing me) I thought I’d lose every single train I booked.
But reality is, the Interrail is such an easy trip to organize, you only have to buy your preferred ticket (I had the «unlimited trains during 1 month») and think about where would you like to go. Then, thanks to the Interrail App you can check train schedules and you only have to book your next train the day before the departure. You may have to pay a little amount for the reservations but it shouldn’t be more than 15€ per train.
On the other hand booking hostels through HostelWorld’s so easy too. I recommend to book every hostel two days before you’re going but it is not necessary at all.
All that facilities makes you free to change your route and to stay more days at any destination if you feel like.
Personally I wanted to see as many places as I could so I spent no more than 1/2 nights per city, I have to add that I run a lot to be able to see everything I wanted to. Organization (the night before) is such an important thing.
You’ll have a lot of time during your train journeys so buy yourself a proper Lonely Planet book and start planning!
Here you have THE ROUTE I planned for my trip:
BARCELONA – PARIS – BRUSSELS – BRUGGE – AMSTERDAM – COPENHAGEN – BERLIN – PRAGUE – VIENA – BUDAPEST – MILAN – FLORENCE – ROME – CINQUE TERRE
